The All-American Canteen Dinner Dance

During Fiesta in 2020, the All American Canteen will be on the 18th of April at the fabulous Sunset Station.  Be ready to dance our butts off.  Join us for the good food and good times!

Every year during Fiesta San Antonio, the Alamo City's mega-celebration, Preservation Fort Sam Houston hosts the All-American Canteen Dinner Dance, recreating the sights and sounds that entertained the Greatest Generation during World War II.  The event pays tribute to all who have served in the American Armed Forces and those who serve this nation today. This year we especially honor Gold Star Families, wounded warriors, and the Warrior Transition Battalions.  The Sentimental Journey Orchestra provides the music, recreating the Big Band Sound of the era.  The historic Sunset Station in downtown San Antonio is the venue and the dinner is served up by R K Catering.  Period attire is encouraged but not mandatory.

Email for your invitation.

The Sentimental Journey Orchestra in Army Air Corps uniforms also brings a "champaign lady" singer and a trio that will remind you of the Andrews Sisters.

At the 2018 Canteen, 21 April:  The Sentimental Journey Orchestra Played and people danced

People dressed for the occasion

The Canteen date in 2019 coincided with the annual Texas Aggie Muster so the Aggies in attendance mustered and sang the Aggie War Hymn.

It was ...priceless!
